Your Favorite Teenage Witch Could Be Making A 'Riverdale' Appearance
Listen up, everyone.
I get it, okay? Riverdale is nothing like the Archie comic series, except that Archie is a ginger.
But that doesn't mean it's not extremely entertaining in the same way The O.C. and One Tree Hill were. It gives us cheesy drama and wild scenarios, so it's everything we could want.
But for all you Archie die-hards who are hoping to see some more of the classic comic in the show, look no further.
Sabrina the Teenage Witch could be hitting your Netflix screens for season 2.
Showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, who also happened to write the Afterlife with Archie comics, says season 2 could see a more supernatural twist involving Sabrina.
“There’s no secret that I love that character, and that that character is a huge part of the Archie universe,” Aguirre-Sacasa, told ComicBook.com. “The truth is, we did talk a lot about introducing Sabrina, but she’s such an important character and it’s such a big idea to introduce the supernatural into a natural world that honestly when we got to the finale — it was before that, it was maybe a couple of months before that — we kind of realized that there was so much stuff to play that if we introduced Sabrina, it would kind of overshadow everything that we had planned."
"The show kind of has hints of the supernatural throughout it; there are visions of Jason as a ghost, as a zombie. Archie sees werewolves. There’s a lot of talk about angry, pagan gods and there’s a voodoo doll. We are going to continue exploring the idea of the supernatural being on the fringes of Riverdale, and that might be to lead up to Sabrina’s arrival or that might just be to make it more like Twin Peaks and the way they dealt with the supernatural."
Producers have hinted at a possible Sabrina appearance on Riverdale, so this could really be happening, you guys!
Continue reading to find out how Melissa Joan Hart plays into all of this.
Melissa Joan Hart has previously commented on a possible Sabrina reboot, and now there are rumors she could be coming to Riverdale as well! Of course, she couldn't necessarily reprise the role of Sabrina, unless there was an explanation as to how she is decades older than other students. Speculation is circulating, however, that she could return as one of Sabrina's aunts.
So what do you think, is this a good idea? Do you even watch the show?
