We're All Out Of Faith Because 'Torn' Is A Cover And It's Not The Only One
It isn't unusual for songs to get remade over the years. When something works, why not try to do it again? A lot of times it's pretty obvious, but every once and a while we all seem to realize that a popular song is actually a cover and we are completely in shock.
The song everyone is freaking out about is one that we all know and love from our childhood: 'Torn' by Natalie Imbruglia. The song is actually a cover, and while we may have known that in the past, it's really easy to forget because the version we know is much more famous than the original.
But it's true, Natalie Imbruglia is not the original singer for the song 'Torn'. It's actually by a band called Ednaswap.
The song was written by Scott Cutler and Anne Preven, who were members of the Danish band Ednaswap. Their producer, Phil Thornalley, was the one who suggested Imbruglia redo the song when she was getting going, but it was the first time the American audiences heard the song.
This isn't the only song that people get confused about. A lot of other artists have done covers of songs that have gone on to overpower the original...
'Torn' isn't the only song that people seem to forget is a cover. These five songs tend to get mistaken as originals as well!
