The New 'Trading Spaces' Trailer Is Out, And It's Exactly What We Needed Today

When it was announced TLC’s beloved home renovating show Trading Spaces would be back on air, fans began reminiscing on the wild home makeovers plastered on our small screens.

The series is set to debut on April 7, with an hour-long reunion special, and will be shaking things up.

The new series has doubled the original’s $1,000 budget to $2,000 per room, in an effort to keep the home décor fresh and stylish, but without breaking the bank.

“Viewers have become so accustomed to seeing designs done for $50,000 or $100,000. I think this will be inspiring,” TLC’s executive vice president of development and production Howard Lee told TV Guide.

Fans rejoiced after they heard familiar faces like Paige Davis, Ty Pennington, and Vern Yip would be back for the revival, with Pennington adding they still all share their great chemistry.

“Nobody had changed a single bit, including myself,” Pennington told PEOPLE. “We’re like brothers and sisters.”

While we’ll have to wait until the spring to watch the rebooted show, TLC has given us a glimpse of what to expect with a new, two minute trailer.

When news broke out Trading Spaces would be back on air, nobody was more excited than Davis herself.

“I was very proactive about it," Davis previously told EW. "I knew they had a lot of decisions to make, and I just kind of offered myself up to say, ‘I’m here. Even if you just have questions, I’m here to be a part of it in any way that you see fit.’ So I was very delighted when I got the phone call to say, ‘Yes, indeed, we want you to host it.’ I screamed.”

“I think there’s a tremendous wave of nostalgia happening right now,” Davis said. “And I believe that if we deliver excellent episodes in the format that fans knew and loved, it will reach into people’s hearts and memories and tap into something that’s bigger than just design, and bigger than home improvement.”

Her words sprung true, as fans were finally able to feast their eyes on the long-awaited trailer.
