Tia Mowry Updated Us On The "Sister, Sister" Reunion And People Are Psyched
Everyone was so thrilled when Tamara Mowry first suggested that they were in the process of making a Sister, Sister reunion, and now Tia Mowry is giving us a little update on how it's going!
Tia Mowry explained a little bit about the process of making the original show, saying that “A lot of people might not know this, but every year at the beginning of the season, me and my sister would sit down with the producers and tell them what’s going on with our lives in real life, and they would turn those into stories."
She says that because they had a part in creating the original, that they would obviously like to have their real lives reflected in any reunion that took place. “I would want her to replicate my life, and what’s going on in it right now. Just a mom with a family trying to make ends meet and see how that works.”
She confirmed that the reboot was something that they all want to happen, but the process to get it made is going slower than they had hoped.
“We’re looking, right now, for a producer and a writer, someone who can kind of be a leader of the pack in regards to running the show,” she says. “I thought people would kind of be jumping on it, but it’s a lot harder than my sister and I thought it would be. Everything in my career has always been a challenge.”
But with so many other shows getting comebacks, there is definitely a market for it. Shows like Roseanne, Twin Peaks and Will and Grace are all getting new seasons, not to mention Fuller House which is already heading into season three.
She is keeping the fans in mind and says that even though it's going slow "It's not dead in any kind of way. We’re moving forward, we’re taking those strides. They’re slow strides, but we’re pushing as hard as we can to make people happy and make our fans happy.”
Lately she has been doing a lot of dramatic roles as well as her own home show called Tia Mowry at Home. She says that "I want to stretch myself and do roles that people wouldn’t necessarily see me in," but still looks forward to revisiting Tia Landry as soon as she could.
