This Popular 90s Beverage Is Making A Comeback
If you were old enough to drink or sneak a drink (we don't judge) in the 90s then you definitely remember Zima and the hangovers that came with it.
The sweet, clear malt beverage is making a comeback and per Ad Age, shipments have already arrived in distributor warehouses. But, since nothing good lasts forever, the fizzy drink will be available for a limited time only.
Zima was first introduced in the 1993 as a beer alternative by Coors Brewing Company but eventually fizzled out of store shelves in the U.S. by 2008. Pete Coors, the Vice Chairman of Molson Coors board of directors blames the discontinuation of the brand on marketing errors. "We decided to do Zima Gold, which was a huge disaster," Mr. Coors said. "And then we decided to take the nice fluted bottle and make it into a generic bottle. We killed the brand, frankly." explains Coors.
Asides from it's unique taste, Zima was best known for it's super-cheesy commercials. Check out some of the "zenzational" ads below for a trip down memory lane.
So if you'd like to indulge in a glass of nostalgia or simply want to try "zomething different", stay tuned for some more on news on when the cooler will be available for purchase.
