The 'Double Dare' Reboot Has Arrived, And It's Everything We Wanted It To Be

We've all been waiting around semi-patiently since the Double Dare reboot was announced in April. We knew that the show would come out eventually, but we couldn't help but be excited.

It's one of those shows that even if it was rebooted, there's really very few ways they could ruin it. Well... That's not true but we had our hopes.  

When they announced the new host in May, we were at first a little concerned that Marc Summers wasn't going to be there. But we realized very quickly they were going to team up, letting the new host take over some of the duties but keep Summers around as the expert.

Well, the premiere of the new Double Dare was last night, and people were super psyched about it. They brought back the best of the best, and made us all feel like we were kids again.

Summers warned us all that it wouldn't necessarily be a copy-paste version of the 90s show, saying, "If you are tuning in to see what Double Dare was, it’s not that. It’s something different. It’s something for 2018," but still we were excited to see what was in store.

As it turns out, most of the obstacles are pretty similar to the originals, with a few additions to make things either slimier or... Well... No, all the additions just mean more slime.

The 'Pick-It' Nose is still the same

They've still got to get all the way up there to get the flag while that slimy goop falls on their faces. It's unchanged, because obviously it was perfect as it was.

The Hamster Wheel is still around

It's once again there for kids to try and power through, running as fast as those little legs can take them.

The Mouth got an upgrade

You used to just slide on through the mouth, but now it's got an added feature where it randomly starts spitting up slime at you. It makes it a little bit trickier to grab the flag off the uvula before you slip right out.

There are some new obstacles too

They've added one called the "Tube-a-Totter" which is a big tube with whip cream in it that acts like a teeter-totter so it's hard once you get to a certain point because you might slip right out.

Mount Saint Double Dare is back and bigger than ever

They added slime rivers down the middle, making it so much harder to get up, and it's even taller than it used to be!

The Ringer doubled in size

They have added a second ringer and a slime pit in the middle to make this obstacle even harder than before.

Now that it has premiered, everyone on Twitter seems to be completely freaking out about it.

All of us have grown up a lot since the show premiered, but that isn't going to stop us from watching.

Apparently we are going to have to explain to our kids that we had slime first...
