First Teaser For The Andre the Giant Documentary Is Out And Fans Can't Handle It

HBO has just released the first teaser for its widely-anticipated documentary about André the Giant.

The late actor and wrestler has been an icon in the western-hemisphere since the 1980s, and we won't be forgetting about him anytime soon.

While we already know several surprising facts about André, we're sure there's plenty of more insights the documentary will have in store for us.

Born André René Roussimoff, he was nicknamed "The Eighth Wonder Of The World" and the "Gentle Giant," by many of his beloved fans, as he stood at 7'4 feet tall. His large stature was a result of gigantism caused by an excess growth hormone, which none of his other family members had.

After working with his father on their family farm, André moved away from his home in Grenoble to Paris, France and began training as a professional wrestler. The rest is history.

Even with just a short teaser, you can already tell the film is going to be amazing.

WWE chairman and CEO Vince McMahon announced the project last year, which will be produced by Bill Simmons. He told Variety André was the epitome of any onscreen leading man.

"For more than 20 years, Andre the Giant’s larger than life personality and unique charisma captured the imagination of fans around the world," McMahon said. "I will always value our friendship, and am proud to tell the story of the 'Eighth Wonder of the World.'"

The documentary is set to debut next spring.
