S Club 7 Singer Calls Out Fellow Band Member For Bullying

Back in the 90s to early 2000s, S Club 7 was one of the hottest musical groups around.

From hits like "S Club Party" to "Never Had a Dream Come True," it was practically impossible not to bop your head to the catchy tunes.

Their eccentric personalities and one-of-a-kind charm meshed so well together, it seemed like the band members would be inseparable.

So, it makes it even more disappointing to hear one of the singers has accused his former band member of being a bully.

Paul Cattermole, 40, was a member of the British band from 1998 to 2002, a year before the group officially broke up.

Unfortunately, Cattermole hasn't had the best relationship with his fellow singers, as he has accused Jo O'Meara, 38, for bullying her way into his S Club 3 lineup.

In an interview with NME, Cattermole claims O'Meara was "that bully from Essex" that "bullied her way into the situation."

"There was a fall-out over whether we should be doing a dance troupe, diversity-type show with choreography to backing tracks, or do what we’ve always done and have a live band," Cattermole said. "I was being forceful about the live music to the point where I upset some people. It’s my fault. I shouldn’t have pushed it so hard. There was even shouting."

While he claims he was "half-joking," it's hard to find the humor in his cutting comments.

"Me and Bradley were doing it for about two years – and then Jo came along. That bully from Essex came along and bullied her way into the situation. 'You know what I am, Paul – I’m the anchor in this band.' I think you missed a W there!" Cattermole said.

"No, I’m half mucking about, half serious. We do actually get on. Bradley [McIntosh]’s Dad manages that [S Club 3] situation, so when the opportunity came to bring Tina [Barrett] in and make it a three that way, I found myself not getting booked as much," he added.

Now, S Club 3 has released a statement in response to Cattermole's comments.

Following Cattermole's comments on O'Meara being the "bully from Essex," a statement from S Club 3 has been released.

Cattermole departed the musical group he said to have created in 2015, but seems as his resentment still remains.

“Prior to 2008, Bradley McIntosh and Paul Cattermole were doing a number of DJ sets which proved to be successful and due to their success we, SLNB [Management]/ Loco Talent [Agent], approached Jo O’Meara in 2008 to ask if she would be interested in working in a new project called SC3. Jo agreed and from that point onwards they have been working ever since," the statement read.

“A number of years later, Tina Barrett was also approached by us and agreed to join in the project,” the statement continues.

"In 2015 Paul made a decision that he no longer wanted to be part of the project as he wanted to concentrate more on acting. The door was always left open for Paul to return to the project if ever he wanted to," it adds.

"We wish Paul all the best in his future endeavors."

While the release didn't specifically address the accusation, it definitely adds some much needed clarity.
