Rumors Claim N64 Classic Console To Be Announced Soon, Here's What We Know So Far
Apparently the announcement of whether or not the N64 Classic will exist isn't what we need to be worried about, it's more of a when will it be coming out.
Nintendo's just had a big showcase called Nintendo Direct that highlights all of their upcoming projects, and many sources claimed that it would be the day that the official details of the N64 classic would be released.
Nintendo Direct is a big deal every year for gamers, and with this year's release of the new Super Smash Bros. game, fans have good reason to celebrate. But right now, people are on edge because it's suspected that the announcement for the N64 Classic would come right after the sneak peek at Smash Bros.
According to Gaming Intel, their source claimed, "The N64 Classic Edition is going to be shown after the smash announcements."
What they didn't know was whether that indicated that it would be right after the event on the same day, or if it means that it would be in a separate event on another day.
The current rumor stated that the N64 Classic will feature 30 different games, including some big hits like The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, Super Mario 64, Banjo-Kazooie, along with another 26 popular titles, apparently including those made by Rare.
Having Rare games involved means that we will likely get to see Goldeneye and Donkey Kong 64 on the new system, which is perfect because it wouldn't be right without them.
All of the other classic systems have been announced a few months before their release dates, but with a suspected release date of December 2018, Nintendo is cutting it a little bit close.
The NES Classic sold out in record-time, making fans annoyed that they couldn't actually get one if they wanted it. The SNES Classic seemed to be equally anticipated, but they seemed to have a bit more stock ready for it.
However, the N64 is probably one of the most popular game consoles ever released, and the nostalgic gamers will absolutely be ready to scoop this one up the moment it's available. If they do end up releasing it by December, you can guarantee that it's going to be a mad dash to get it for this holiday season.
Everyone was hoping that the announcement would come, but as the Nintendo Direct event ended and no news arrived, people started doubting the source. But now they've made an update and revealed that their source has clarified their details.
UPDATE 1st November, 2018 (11:30AM PT): The source has stated the announcement will be coming later this month. Although this is disappointing as it was stated for November 1st originally, it does make more sense to us and this is one of the scenario’s we theorised to begin with (as seen in the following paragraph).
The fact a very reliable source has stated there will be 2 Directs in November makes it more likely that it will be announced in the 2nd Direct. We stress this is an untested source but we still have a good chance of this happening.
I don't know about you, but I am getting really excited for this. I cannot wait for it to be available.
