Roseanne Barr Reveals Her Plans To Leave The Country To Cope With Loss Of Her Show

With the premiere of The Conners just around the corner, everyone has their eyes focused on Roseanne Barr.

After the infamous controversial tweet she made about a politician cost her the show she worked so hard to bring back, Barr has continued facing backlash.

Whether it's the public comments made against Barr from her former costars, or the constant questions she faces from the media, everyone has something to say about the disgraced actress.

Her words were hurtful to many people, even though she claims that it was all a misunderstanding. But now Barr is trying to face the fact that her words had a big impact on a lot of people.

"It’s really hard to say this but, I didn’t mean what they think I meant. And that’s what’s so painful. But I have to face that it hurt people. When you hurt people, even unwillingly, there’s no excuse. I don’t want to run off and blather on with excuses."

Barr spoke about how she is taking responsibility for her words. "After your heart is unfrozen and after it stops being broken from the pain you caused others, you stop being a robot and you've got to come back to God... I definitely feel remorse."

One thing she has done that could be taken as a start of an apology to her castmates and crew of her cancelled show, was that she made a deal with ABC to sign away her rights to the program.

By doing that, ABC was able to create a new spin-off called The Conners that would give the cast and crew back their jobs. Barr is no longer involved in the show and she will not make any money from it.

However, the actress was recently on a podcast hosted by her friend Rabbi Shmuley Boteach and she once again opened up about the controversy, including explaining what is in her future.

When asked about The Conners, and whether or not she plans to watch how her former TV family carries on without her, she had a very diplomatic answer.

"I'm not going to curse it or bless it," she said. "I'm staying neutral. That's what I do. I'm staying neutral."

She did reveal that she wouldn't be watching. "I'm staying away from it. Not wishing bad on anyone and I don't wish good for my enemies. I don't. I can't. I just stay neutral. That's what I gotta do."

Barr explained that her mental health wouldn't be able to handle watching it. "I have some mental health issues of depression and stuff. I got to stay in the middle or I'll go dark, and I don't want to go dark again. I've done it. After all, I was married to Tom Arnold."

Instead, she's decided to leave Hollywood behind.  "I don't like Hollywood. I'm leaving California because I'm sure it's going to fall into the sea soon."

Barr explained that she's actually started singing, and "went to Nashville and cut a record." Apparently that has always been her dream. "I'm singing and getting better. I'm not great, or even good, but I'm better. I'm very excited. It's very funny."

Not only is Barr taking on a new music career, she's actually going to do her best to avoid The Conners premiere by heading out of the country and visiting Israel.

"I have an opportunity to go to Israel for a few months and study with my favorite teachers over there, and that's where I'm going to go and probably move somewhere there and study with my favorite teachers," Barr said on Boteach's podcast.

"I have saved a few pennies and I'm so lucky I can go...and study with any rabbi that I can ask to teach me, and it's my great joy and privilege to be a Jewish woman."

The Conners will premiere on October 16th, where we will find out how they plan to write off Roseanne Conner. According to John Goodman, Roseanne will be killed off the show, but he hasn't revealed how.
