Paris Hilton Claims She and Britney Invented The Selfie, Gets Justly Mocked By The Internet
Eleven years ago, Paris Hilton and Britney Spears graced the world with their friendship.
Their pairing became a staple in the tabloids, but that's about it. They didn't form an everlasting bond, and if I didn't remind you, you probably wouldn't remember by yourself.
However, the sex tape socialite recently took to Twitter to celebrate the 11th anniversary of her and Spears' invention of the "selfie."

Hilton had previous said she helped start a new "generation of celebrity" by becoming a pioneer for aspiring reality stars everywhere.
"I was definitely before my time, and the beginning of a whole new era, and it started a new generation and genre of celebrity,” Hilton told Ocean Drive magazine.
"I’m very proud I started a whole new way for young people, young entrepreneurs and people with dreams to make a living and a very lucrative business off of it," she added.
If that bold statement sounds nuts to you, you're not alone. Twitter users were quick to refute her revelation, along with mocking her selfie statement.
Unsurprisingly, they didn't hold back.
