Trailer For New Nickelodeon Documentary Has Your 90s Favorites Spilling All The Secrets

Nickelodeon wasn't just a television network, it was basically a generation. Kids all over the country were bonded in this weird little family, obsessing over shows that our parents just couldn't possibly understand.

They were for us. They weren't made to appeal to our parents, they were made for our enjoyment and so we felt a special connection to them unlike any other shows.

Nickelodeon is still going strong today, but it's hard to remember that there was a time before the iconic kids network came around. The company may be a juggernaut now, but how did it get started?

Well, we're all about to find out, because there is a new documentary being released that is going to give us all the behind-the-scenes details of the "kids first" network. Not only will it give us a bit of a history lesson on how it all got started, but it'll give us a look at where all our favorite Nickelodeon stars have ended up.

The project started as a crowdfunded documentary, with all the funds being raised by the fans themselves. The first trailer is now out, and we're really going to get a good look at how the network that shaped our childhoods was really formed.

The Orange Years will have interviews with many iconic characters and actors that you grew up watching.

You're going to see Marc Summers, Melissa Joan Heart, Kenan Thompson, Josh Server, Danny Tamberelli, Drake Bell, Danny Cooksey, Michael Bower, Kel Mitchell, Larisa Oleynik, Lori Beth Denberg, Coolio, and more all talk about how this network became this successful and beloved entity.

The trailer shows a few of these stars give their opinions on the network, and while we can obviously expect a lot more from them, you can already see how much they understood that what they were doing was different from any other kids' programming.

"It didn't feel like the version of what an adult was telling a kid to watch, it felt like really what kids were into," Larisa Oleynik from The Secret Life of Alex Mack said.

"We were the anti-Disney, we were the anti-Saturday morning."

"The inmates were very much running the asylum back then. It was way easier to slip stuff in," Spongebob creator Tom Kenny says.

"They trusted us," Marc Summers said. "I mean, the stuff we got away with was insane."

The movie is set to be released sometime in 2018, so hopefully we'll be able to watch it within the next few weeks!
