'Murphy Brown' Premieres With Epic Cameo And Fans Have Strong Feelings About It

The premiere of the brand new Murphy Brown reboot was last night, and oh man, did it ever make a huge move right out of the gate.

It's no secret that Murphy Brown has always been a politically charged show, but they sure have come back swinging.

The entire premiere episode of the eleventh season was directly aimed at President Trump, and even though she's been off the air for 20 years, Candice Bergen jumped back in with ease.

The show started with a flashback to the 2016 election, and with Trumps win, the entire team meets back up at the Women's March. Murphy, Frank, Corky, and Miles all admit they miss being on TV and being able to share the truth.

They decide to start their own cable show, because people are listening to the "Wolf Network" and as Murphy says, "all the male anchors are conspiracy theorists and the women are dead behind the eyes."

The team relaunches their show as a morning show, but of course it's not going to go as smoothly as they want it to.

First of all, Murphy's own son, Avery, is her rival, as he has a TV show on the Wolf Network, and it runs at the same time as hers does.

But the highlight of the episode was obviously the surprise cameo.

Hillary Clinton turned up to interview for the open secretary position for the new show within the show called "Murphy in the Morning."

She's credited as "Hilary Clendon" but she is playing a character who claims to be frequently mistaken for the presidential candidate.

While she's being interviewed, the fictional version of Hilary claims she is "not afraid of hard work, I'm qualified, and I'm ready on day one," and states that she has "some experience with emails."

Being able to poke fun at herself like that was refreshing to see, and a lot of people watching agreed. Sure, there are some critics, but the fans have something to say to them:

"It's funny how people who loved the original turned off the debut episode of the revival because of the politics. It's almost like they actually didn't watch the original run of the show," One fan wrote in defense of the politically charged sitcom.

Murphy Brown has always been full of political commentary, and the reboot is not going to shy away from that just because the world has changed a lot.

"Murphy Brown was 'woke' before it was a thing, and intolerant and outspoken as a women when it wasn't so acceptable in a newsroom. how timely and appropriate for her to return after 20 years too long, today."

Fans were so happy to have this strong woman be back in their lives.

"The [Murphy Brown] reboot is even better than I thought it was going to be. And it's not even through the first episode. I didn't think that was possible."

But obviously you can't please everyone. There were a few people who were really upset with Murphy's views.

"This show offends me. Turned it off after 5 minutes," a user wroter, but that's fine because she seems to have enough fans going forward.
