Make Your Favorite Retro Characters Fight Each Other In Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite

PlayStation

Beginning with X-Men Vs. Street Fighter in 1996 and soon going on to encompass both Marvel and Capcom's franchises, Marvel Vs. Capcom has been a favorite franchise among fighting game lovers for years now. Last seen with 2011's Marvel Vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds, the franchise is making a comeback this year with Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite.

Marvel

What's so cool about this franchise is that it lets you pit teams of retro gaming icons like Mega Man, Ryu from Street Fighter, and Arthur from Ghosts N' Goblins, against iconic Marvel mainstays like Spider-Man, Hulk, and Wolverine.

Shown off in a major way at Sony's PlayStation E3 conference, it was revealed that this new entry in the series is going to have a fully fleshed-out story mode! In what can only be described as a comic book storyline on steroids, a team of superheroes and video game characters have to team up with the mad titan Thanos to stop the combined form of Ultron (last seen in Avengers: Age of Ultron) and Sigma (the antagonist of the Mega Man X series), Ultron Sigma, from enslaving the now-fused worlds of both franchises.

He is pretty serious guys.Twitter

While the story looks interesting and ridiculous in that comic-book style we all love, the question being asked by fans remains the same as ever: what new (old) characters can we expect to see duking it out? A few have already been announced, with the Marvel side getting Black Panther, Captain Marvel, and Gamora (which I'm sure has nothing to do with the upcoming/current movies featuring these characters), while Capcom's brought in Mega Man X, the only version of Mega Man to not appear in the franchise yet.

Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite is due out on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on September 19, 2017.

What characters would you all like to see appear in the game? I'd personally really like to see The Winter Soldier duke it out with Viewtiful Joe.

Make it happen guys!
