Linkin Park Singer Chester Bennington Reported Dead By Suicide
TMZ has reported that Chester Bennington, longtime frontman of popular alt-rock band Linkin Park, has committed suicide by hanging at the age of 41. His body was discovered Thursday, July 20th 2017 just before 9 AM in his L.A. County Residence. He leaves a wife and six children, some from a previous marriage.
The details behind Bennington's suicide are still unknown, though it has been well documented in the past that the singer had something of a hard life. He struggled with alcohol and drug use for years, and had on more than one occasion denoted suicidal thoughts stemming from being sexually abused as a child.
The band had just released their new single, "Talking To Myself," the day of Bennington's suicide.
We will update the story as more information develops, but suffice to say we are saddened by the loss of a man with talent like Bennington's. His voice was eminently distinctive and powerful, and was one of the driving forces behind Linkin Park's massive success. He will be deeply missed.
