John Travolta Celebrated Grease's 40th Anniversary By Jumping On Stage With 50 Cent

John Travolta has played a lot of roles over his long career, but there are very few more iconic and important than the role of Danny Zuko in Grease.

The movie came out 40 years ago, and still it remains a beloved classic that literally everyone loves. I mean, if you say you don't love it chances are you're lying to yourself.

Travolta may fall into the tabloids a lot with some rumors about his life, but the fact that is always indisputable is that hes one of the biggest stars, and his role as Danny was the actual best thing ever.

There was so much more depth to Danny than people give him credit for. He's just your average teen who is trying to look cool in front of his friends and doesn't want them to know that he has all these deeper emotions for Sandy.

He's got a bit of vulnerability to him, and even though he hides it a lot. He cares about Sandy a lot, and while I don't love that she completely changes herself for him, I'm sure that once they are together for good they can both settle back into their normal personalities.

Cannes threw them a party

It's hard to believe that it has been 40 years since Grease came out. But to celebrate the anniversary, the huge Cannes Film Festival decided to throw a little party.

They did a screening of the iconic musical with the director there to watch along, but you know who else showed up? Danny Zuko himself, John Travolta!

Travolta was at the Cannes Film Festival with his movie Gotti, but this night was all got Grease.

He rocked a denim jacket, giving a retired T-Bird type vibe, and everyone was absolutely thrilled to see him.

A lot of happy memories all around

The director, Randal Kleiser, was there with his friend and you can tell he was honored that his movie was still so popular.

"It's very exciting to have a screening on the beach her at Cannes after forty years. John Travolta coming back for it is a big thrill too. I can't wait to see what happens."

Travolta also had a lot of nice things to say about the movie.

"This is a film that's so timeless that keeps on giving to each new generation. When people watch this, they just get happy. They want to become the characters they're watching.

They want to sing along with it, they want to dance, they want to be part of this film. When mutual enthusiasm comes together and creates an environment you can create almost anything -- and we created Grease."

The festival has been pretty great for Travolta. He's premiered his new movie Gotti, he joined Instagram, he got to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the greatest movie ever, he accepted the Variety Cinema Icon Award, but most importantly he jumped on stage with 50 Cent.

Yes, you read that right. There's no reason why these two people should be connected, but while 50 Cent was performing "Just a Lil Bit" Danny Zuko jumped on stage and gave it his all.

He's obviously known for his dancing abilities, not only because of Grease but because of Saturday Night Fever.

The disco king of the 70s now has a much more subdued style that while it may not be up to Tony Manero's standards, I think it's pretty great.

I mean, the man is 64 years old, so I'd like to see you do better!

Apparently him joining in was his own idea. He figured he may as well make the most out of his time in Cannes.

"I thought, 'I'm going to go and make something viral here. If [50 Cent] is going to travel 20 hours to get here, the least I can do is go up and hang with him on stage."

His little dance moves weren't really planned in advance though.

"The dance was just whatever I felt at the moment, it doesn't really have a name to it," he added. "It's just being cool, I guess."

I will always be grateful when the cast of this movie give a little shout out to it, even if it's in a small way. It's such an iconic movie, it's nice to know they all remember their roots.

Honestly, it's just nice to know that the cast of this movie still get along. They've all gotten back together every few years, and every single time it's electrifying.

I hope there are more more 40th anniversary events because I'd love to see the cast all back together. Especially Rizzo, because obviously she's the best one.

After 40 years you may be wondering what they are all up to now, but even after all these years they still all go together.
