Jim Carrey's Bizarre Interview Has People Wondering If Everything Is Okay

Jim Carrey is causing a bit of controversy thanks to his latest interview, and people are wondering if everything is okay with the famous actor.

He recently showed up at New York Fashion Week, which seems strange enough, but that's not what people are concerned about. He was interviewed by E! News' Catt Sadler on the red carpet but it did not go well.

Normally, meeting a celebrity is a very polished encounter. Everyone is always trying to come across as the best version of themselves so they don't harm their career, but Carrey kind of went off in a different direction.

He started his interview by circling Sadler a few times, then when he was asked why he chose to come to Fashion Week he said, "There’s no meaning to any of this, so I wanted to find the most meaningless thing that I could come to and join, and here I am."

Sadler asked how he felt about the icons that were being celebrated and he replied "That is just the absolute lowest-aiming possibility that we could come up with, is, like, icons."

He seemed to get even more off topic when he started doing a James Brown impression and caught Sadler completely off-guard.

It honestly just kept getting weirder...

As he continued, his statements started to sound kind of like he was having an existential crisis.  He explained that  "I don’t believe in icons. I don’t believe in personalities. I believe that peace lies beyond personality, beyond invention and disguise, beyond the red ‘S’ you wear on your chest, that makes bullets bounce off."

His beliefs may have shocked the reporter, whose expressions reflected how a lot of people felt while they were watching, but Carrey continued on, "I believe that it’s deeper than that. I believe we’re a field of energy dancing for itself. And I don’t care."

Sadler tried her best to bring the attention back to fashion, commenting on his outfit but he wasn't interested in that at all. "I didn't get dressed up, there is no me."

He then 'clarified' by saying that, "there is just things happening, there are clusters of tetrahedrons moving around together."

Sadler tried to refocus the interview one last time, asking "okay, so what's happening in our world right now, because there is a lot that actually is relevant that's not that uplifting?" But then he said "Now here's the thing, it's not our world. We don't matter. There's the good news."

Carrey is pretty well known for making bizarre comments, but this time it seemed especially strange. Check out the video for yourself and see what you think.
