10 Frozen Treats That Were Totally Worth Chasing The Ice Cream Truck Down The Block
There is nothing quite like the thrill of hearing the ice cream truck. That jingle starts to play and you freeze for only a moment to consider whether or not you have any change in your pocket.
If you do, you take off running, without any consideration as to if your parents need to know where you've gone. If you don't, you frantically burst through your door and beg whoever is home to give you money, talking so fast that literally no one would be able to understand.
When you finally make it within range of the truck, and you realize that it has stopped in your vicinity, a wave of relief washes over you. Phew, now you've got time.
You get up to the window, it's your turn to pick the ideal treat, but then you realize there are so many options. Almost too many! You only have $2, which means you can't get too many different things. Even though you would happily buy everything and eat a bite of each, it's not going to work out that way.
It was the impossible choice, but we had to do it. Honestly, even now it's hard to know which one I would pick. How many of these have you tried?
1. Flintstones Push Ups
Nothing was as refreshing as a Yabba Dabba Doo Orange frozen treat, except maybe the Bedrock Berry.
2. Snow Cone
It has to be made well, but when it was, oh boy, was it ever good.
You could combine flavors and create the most delectable and unique snack that was customized to exactly what you wanted in that moment.
3. Choco Taco
Sure, some may say that it's just a misshapen waffle cone, but what's wrong with that? It's honestly all we need.
4. Ninja Turtles Popsicle
Did it ever look like the picture? Of course not. Did we care even a little bit? Nope, still tasted great.
5. Chipwich / Cookie Sandwiches
There are a lot of versions of the Chipwich, and basically all of them are heavenly. Any kind of ice cream contained by two cookies is fine by me.
6. WWF Superstars Cookie Bar
Back when the WWE was known as the WWF, they created these amazing ice cream bars that we couldn't get enough of. A different cookie on either side with ice cream in the middle, all on a stick.
7. Screwball
A classic that gave you two treats in one. Not only do you get a tasty ice cream/snow cone hybrid, you get gumballs at the bottom. The texture of the frozen treat was always really strange, but it didn't matter because it tasted unbelievably great.
8. Strawberry Shortcake
Whether you liked this flavor, or any of the other classic Good Humor bars, they were always a safe bet. You knew exactly what you were getting and it was going to be good.
9. Klondike Bar
The super tasty vanilla ice cream completely encased in a rich chocolate that always snapped off as you bit into it was so very delicious.
10. Rocket / Firecrackers / Bomb Pop
Apparently everyone has a different name for this Popsicle, but it just depended on which brand they had. Basically they were red, white, and blue, and somehow melted faster than anything else from the truck.
Obviously there are too many good options, we will just have to eat them all! Which was your favorite?
