11 Celebrities Who Voiced Some Of Your Favorite Cartoons Without You Realizing

When watching cartoons, it's hard to figure out who the voice actors behind all the characters are. We're so invested in the storyline that we don't even realize a famous celebrity is behind one of our favorite cartoon voices.

It's fairly obvious that Eddie Murphy voices Donkey in Shrek and Ellen DeGeneres voices Dory in Finding Nemo, but not all cartoon voices sound just like the voice actor.

Here are 11 well-known celebrities who were behind some of the most famous cartoon voices, and you didn't even know it!  

1. Fergie - Sally Brown in The Peanuts

I couldn't have guessed this in a million years. The world first heard the American pop singer's voice when she starred as Sally Brown in The Peanuts. But if you watch the video below of Stacey Ferguson as a kid singing, it won't be so much of a surprise.

2. Oprah Winfrey - Eudora in The Princess and the Frog

The talk show host is no stranger to acting, but no one could have guessed that the character of Eudora, Tiana's mom, was played by the billionaire herself! In hindsight, who would have been better to play that role? Oprah's name is now on the list of the first voice actors to be a part of a Disney African-American princess movie.

3. Whoopi Goldberg - Shenzi in The Lion King

Whoopi's voice is quite distinct, but if you're fully engrossed in the movie, you may not connect Shenzi's voice to the actress.

4. Vin Diesel - The Iron Giant

Before Vin Diesel became one of the most recognizable faces on The Fast and the Furious, he voiced the robot in The Iron Giant. He was great at producing all those guttural sounds, which probably prepared him to take on the role of Groot in Guardians of the Galaxy.

5. Bruce Willis - Spike in The Rugrats Movie

You're telling me that the man who starred in The Sixth Sense, Die Hard, and The Fifth Element voiced Spike?! The goofy dog only barked in the TV series, but in the The Rugrats Movie and Rugrats Go Wild, Spike had a lot to say, and thanks to Bruce, his character got a little more interesting.

6. Rowan Atkison - Zazu in The Lion King

To be fair, most of us don't really know what the Mr. Bean star sounds like. We recognize his mumbles well, but not his pompous English voice, (which best describes Zazu).

The Arrested Development star was your little, friendly cartoon bear before he became awkward George Michael.  

8. Meg Ryan - Anastasia

If you dyed Meg Ryan's hair red, she would basically turn into Anastasia. The Sleepless in Seattle actress worked alongside John Cusack, who was the voice actor for Dimitri.

9. Jay Leno - The Crimson Chin in the Fairly Odd Parents

Who would play The Crimson Chin better than Jay? The former late night host has a prominent chin himself, but unfortunately his doesn't have any special powers.

10. Mila Kunis - Meg Griffin in Family Guy

That 70s show star Mila Kunis plays the self-conscious and emotional teenage girl on Family Guy, and most of us probably never noticed. If you're a huge fan of the show, you may have noticed that the voice actors changed between season one and season two.

11. Michael J. Fox - Stuart Little

Michael J. Fox lent his voice to play our favorite cartoon mouse. But seriously, how did we not notice the voice of the man who played Alex in Family Ties?!
