Ed Sheeran's Guest Appearance On 'The Simpsons' Will Include Love Triangle With Lisa
Following his July guest appearance on Game of Thrones, Ed Sheeran is ready to impress the world with his next latest acting job.
When Fox released it's latest episode preview of The Simpsons, fans were shocked to learn Sheeran would be making a cameo on the popular cartoon, especially since he is cited to play the love interest for one of the titular characters, Lisa Simpson.
Sheeran will voicing the character of Brendan, a fellow musician who will be involved in a love triangle with Lisa and Nelson Muntz.
According to Billboard, when The Simpsons producer Mike Sully heard Sheeran would love to make a guest appearance on the show, they were able to get him to record his lines over the phone while he was in England.
"We had a perfect part for him," Al Jean, the show's executive producer said. "So we said, 'Oh, great, we'll have him do this!' And we recorded him over the phone from England."
Speaking on Ed Sheeran's exciting guest appearance on The Simpsons, Jean was also able to share a small insight of the upcoming romance.
"He keeps alternating [between], 'You’re not that great, but you could be fantastic,' and she keeps falling for him because of his talent," Jean said.
In the teaser, Lisa appears unimpressed with Sheeran’s character as he finishes his piano ballad, leading Sheeran's character to say: "You didn't applaud?"
Lisa's father Homer is then seen banging on the walls from the living room, and groaning: "Oh no, they’re playing in time to the beat of my banging!"
