Styles come and go, but fashion sense is eternal. Actually, not really. These photos from the '90s prove that your personal style gets better with age, because these stars wouldn't be caught dead in these outfits today.

1. Celine Dion

Dion is known as a fashion icon these days, but we still have a lot of questions about this "reverse suit." The singer walked the red carpet at the 1999 Oscars looking like Carmen Sandiego in arctic camouflage, and unsurprisingly she changed her outfit before performing in the ceremony.

2. The Kardashian-Jenners

Denim abuse will be a recurring theme on this list, but no one went all-out like reality TV's most famous family, in this wholesome group photo from 1991. If you can name everyone in this photo by sight, you probably need to get out more.

3. Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman

One thing you'll notice about the '90s is stars kept things casual, even at public events. Cruise apparently couldn't even be bothered to iron his shirt before leaving his handprints at Grauman's Chinese Theatre.

4. Christina Aguilera

1999 was a notable year for Aguilera's fashion choices, including this mish-mash from the 1999 Teen Choice Awards that combines a lot of '90s fads.

Is it spangly? Check. It it frilly? Check. Is it mesh? Check. Did she accessorize with strappy heels and a super-long necklace? Check and check.

5. Jared Leto

Patterned vests (especially combined with gold chains) were a major trend in the '90s, but this photo only proves they were a bad idea. If a rock/movie star couldn't pull it off, what hope did any of us have?

6. Tommy Lee and Pamela Anderson

This celebrity power couple were always making headlines, including for their questionable fashion choices. I don't even know where to start with this one, but I just hope Lee's trench coat stayed tied up.

7. The Spice Girls

Yes, it was part of the girl group's gimmick to sport the zany outfits that matched their character in the band, but you can't convince me Posh and Mel B. don't regret being seen in these 20 years later.

8. Lil Kim

When these two were together in the '90s, they were the King and Queen of pop music. But they obviously didn't have anyone in charge of the royal wardrobe. Between Britney's distressed top and Justin's off-the-rack Kmart Hawaiian shirt, they look like they just walked off two different movie sets.

10. Jon Bon Jovi

The rocker made a serious impression on the red carpet for the 1991 Oscars. With his sunglasses, Farrah Fawcett hair, and a suit either made out of crushed velvet or Grimace, it's safe to say nobody was copying his look that night.

11. 98 Degrees

98 Degrees were a popular boy band, and Polo Ralph Lauren was all the rage in the '90s, so put them together and what do you get? An overall outfit the band would rather forget.

12. Sisqo

The musical genius behind "The Thong Song" also gave us lots of memorable outfits, including this red leather ensemble from the 2000 Grammys. (Yes, that totally counts as the '90s.)

The same year she made a splash at the Teen Choice Awards, Aguilera turned heads at the VMAs with this leopard-and-lace combo. No animals were harmed in the making of this outfit (we hope).

14. Justin Timberlake (again)

We hate to double up on the poor guy (even though he'll show up on this list again) but we're still not over the ramen noodle-inspired haircut the singer sported in the '90s. Even in the age of frosted tips, this do was in a league of its own.

15. Tim Robbins

Goth was definitely in during the '90s, but Robbins's Dracula outfit is stealing the thunder from his date, Susan Sarandon, in this photo from the 1994 Oscars.

16. Sarah Jessica Parker

20 years ago, your outfit wasn't complete until you slapped a big 'ol Blossom-sized hat on top of it, and even Carrie Bradshaw experimented with this fad.

Yes, we all loved denim, but there can be too much of a good thing. Even though this outfit was from the 2001 American Music Awards, we're giving it honorary '90s status just so we can make you look at it one more time.
