Toys We Got At Burger King That Were Honestly Better Than Any Happy Meal

While they don't receive the same intense devotion as McDonald's Happy Meal toys, Burger King toys were an important part of our childhood.

During the heyday of the Kids Club, BK's toys were just as impressive as their competitors. A lot of our favorite Disney movies and TV shows were turned into awesome toys that we still own to this day.

1. Burger Books (1985)

Every once in a while, fast food chains included a more "educational" toy to make parents happy. But these were still pretty fun.

2. Beetlejuice (1990)

These spooky but fun toys were based on the animated series, not the Tim Burton movie.

3. The Simpsons (1990)

The hit animated show teamed up with Burger King a number of times. Which is surprising based on how controversial some other toy lines were with parents.

4. Beauty and the Beast (1991)

It's a tale as old as time: free children's toys that eventually become collectibles for sale on eBay.

5. Goof Troop Bowling (1992)

This cartoon about Goofy and his son Max was a classic, so we definitely tried to get our hands on all four of these toys.(Even though they aren't that fun.)

6. Aladdin (1992)

These toys weren't very interactive, but we were so obsessed with Aladdin that we didn't mind.

7. The Lion King (1994)

Yes, you may remember that this movie also had memorable McDonald's toys. Disney made sure to cover all their bases.

8. Disney Collector Cups

Ok, so these weren't really toys. But we begged our parents to get them for us non-stop every time we went to BK, and that has to count for something.

9. A Goofy Movie (1995)

The good troop was back in the Kids Club to promote their feature-length movie. These toys were definitely an improvement on the bowling figures.

10. Pocahontas (1995)

There were a lot of toys in this line based on the hit movie, but how much fun you could actually have with them really varied.

11. Toy Story Pals (1995)

There were actually two lines of Toy Story kids toys in the same year, including plush figures, a poseable Buzz and Woody, and some army men. It's a shame the rest of the characters weren't included.

12. Scooby-Doo (1996)

Yes, we're always happy to get Scooby-Doo toys. But did they really need to make Scrappy-Doo the biggest toy in the set?

13. M&M Minis (1997)

Overall, this set is just so-so. But there's no denying that funky blue M&M is totally awesome.

14. Men in Black (1997)

Not only did this set let you erase people's memories with the Neutalyzer, it also featured MIB agents with detachable slime. Great idea.

15. The Universal Monsters (1997)

Even if they hadn't seen their movies, every kid could appreciate Dracula, the Wolfman, Frankenstein's monster, and the Creature from the Black Lagoon.

16. The Land Before Time (1997)

A great movie and a great set of toys, it's just too bad Spike looks like he's puking.

17. The Rugrats Movie (1998)

The Rugrats actually had a number of toy sets with Burger King, and they were always pretty impressive.

The set for Rugrats in Paris featured stackable tree house parts.

There was also a set for their crossover movie with The Wild Thornberrys.

And there was even a whole set of Rugrats-themed watches.

18. Small Soldiers (1998)

This line actually landed the fast food chain in hot water, after the movie was slapped with a PG-13 rating. Burger King was forced to hand out a flyer with every toy, assuring parents they were kid-friendly.

19. Pokemon (1999)

We were obsessed with catching every single pocket monster in the '90s. Okay, we still are, but mainly we wish we could get our hands on these great toys.

And of course these promotional Pokeballs with gold cards inside were also must-haves.

20. Teletubbies (1999)

These soft, huggable toys were just the thing for Teletubbies-obsessed kids. And they came with Tubby Toast!

21. CatDog (1999)

Yes, these toys were fun. But CatDog still creeps me out.

22. Nick Kids Choice Awards (1999)

All fast food toy sets are a form of advertising, but this one was really blatant. It seems like every '90s kid still owns that orange Nick blimp.

23. Mr. Potato Head (1998-9)

You can't beat a classic. We always loved getting a new Potato Head toy.

24. X-Men Evolution (2001)

The toys for this great comic book cartoon included both a figure of the character and a mini CD-rom. Sliding it in your computer would let you play games and download wallpapers of the characters.

25. Simpsons Spooky Light-Ups (2001)

These toys captured the spooky fun of the show's special Treehouse of Horror episodes, and were the perfect promotion for Halloween.

And don't forget, the Simpson family had their own talking watches.

26. The Lord of the Rings (2001)

Don't ask us what kind of kid wanted a Pippin figurine, but it's pretty cool that all the toys in this set assemble to form a big diorama.

27. SpongeBob SquarePants (2001)

Whoooo lives in a Burger King right down the street? SpongeBob SquarePants!
