Woman Proves She Still Wears Her 90s Bridesmaid Dress After Bride Apologizes For Them
You know how every single bride says that they pick their bridesmaid dresses because they could "easily wear them again?" Well, finally a bride has admitted she was wrong but her bridesmaid had the best response imaginable.
Tammi Sauer took to Facebook to celebrate her anniversary, but at the same time she apologized to the bridesmaids at her wedding.
She wrote "These two 22-year-olds are celebrating 22 years of marriage! Hubba hubba. My apologies for those dresses, ladies."
The handmade dresses were based on a pattern because the bride's distinct vision wasn't available in stores. “Apparently, not everyone in 1995 wanted a long, off-the-shoulder gown in a burgundy brocade fabric that looked like a Thanksgiving tablecloth,” the bride joked in an interview with Buzzfeed.
“Those dresses were handmade by moms, grandmas, and random seamstresses.”
But one of her bridesmaids decided that it was the perfect moment for a photoshoot. She enlisted her kids to take some photos so she could back up her friend's bad choice in the best way.
Heidi Mann posted the series of photos with a comment that said "What do you mean sorry about the dresses? I wear mine all the time."
The pictures showed her doing very normal things like laundry, watering the garden, and doing some work around the house.
Honestly, I don't know what to be more impressed by, the fact that she still had the dress, or the fact that it still fit after 22 years.
Her dress collection is actually pretty large and includes eight other bridesmaid dresses, three prom dresses and an eighth-grade recognition dress.
But why does she have so many old dresses? Well, Mann said they in storage at her mom's house until a few years ago. "Five years ago when we moved back from living in London she gave them to me. Now they are almost vintage."
She joked that they can still be used. "Really, I can’t get rid of them now! I have a daughter. She will want to wear them. You know she will."
Everyone who went to a wedding in the 90s has either seen or worn one of these dresses. It was the style at the time, and really we can't help that it was mildly horrible.
It's definitely not the worst bridesmaid dress out there, but at least Heidi Mann is happy to laugh at it! This is true friendship!
How many of you have worn a bad bridesmaid dress?
