Activities All '90s Kids Loved That We Completely Forgot About

In 2018, kids eat Tide Pods. In the 90s, we really knew how to have fun without seriously damaging our organs. Here's a list of our favorite 90s activities you almost forgot:

1. Mad Libs

When we were young we used these to practice how to use nouns, verbs and adjectives. When we got a little older we learned which dirty words were nouns, verbs and adjectives. We thought we were hilarious and prayed our moms never found it and read it.

2. Skip-It

The Skip-It was a close second to the ultimate ankle destroyer, after the Razor Scooter of course. This toy was also nearly impossible to use because you had to get the exact timing and rhythm to not trip and fall on your face. This was basically an Olympic sport.

3. Game Boy

The Game Boy was one of the best toys we had, and in our eyes a huge success for technology. Being able to play during long car rides was everything, and we would play until our thumbs cramped.

4. Tamagotchi

Basically our first pet. They were supposed to be a small alien-like species that deposited an egg on Earth to see what life was like, and it was up to the player to raise the egg into an adult creature. The creature goes through several stages of growth, and developed differently depending on the care the player provided, with better care resulting in an adult creature that is smarter, happier, and requires less attention. There things were incredibly needy and I loved every minute of it.

5. Cootie Catcher

I was never able to have the artistic skills to attempt to make one of these, but there was always one or two girls in every class that were in charge of making them, and would go around at recess making sure everyone had a turn.

6. MASH

I fully believed that I would be driving a Ferrari and living in a shack by this point in my life.

7. Blockbuster

When your mom told you it was time to go to Blockbuster, you knew it was going to be a good weekend. Having every VHS movie ever to pick from right at our fingertips seemed like an insane concept.

8. Endless board games

Before Candy Crush and Mine Craft we had Uno, Pick-up Sticks, Monopoly, Guess Who? Hungry Hungry Hippos, Battleship. This was the decade of the best board games, and I still love all of these.

9. Passing notes

I have no idea if kids still do this, but before cellphones, passing notes was the most exciting thing to do in elementary school. The most thrilling part was freaking out that your note might be passed to the wrong person and Chad will find out that you like him.

10. Scholastic Books fairs

My mom would get mad at me every time she gave me money for books and I came home with a new poster for my room.
