8 Movies That Will Make You Question How We All Completely Forgot Tara Reid Ever Existed

Though nowadays she's best-known for showing up in all of the Sharknado movies (which I still can't understand why there's so many of), Tara Reid was a genuine up-and-coming star in the late 80s and early 90s. For a long time it seemed like you couldn't have a teen comedy without her, and in particular, she was a pretty big part of these 8 movies.

The Big Lebowski (1998)

Most of us fist saw Reid as Bunny Lebowski, the insatiable trophy wife of Jeffrey "The Big" Lebowski, who has something of an... interesting past.

Urban Legend (1998)

This movie really, really wanted to be Scream, and even though it didn't get anywhere close to that movie's greatness, it still put Reid even further in the spotlight.

Cruel Intentions (1999)

Reid was part of an all-star cast in this late-90s drama, which included Sarah Michelle Gellar, Ryan Phillippe, Reese Witherspoon, and Selma Blair.

The next few movies were the ones that really made her a household name...

American Pie (1999)

Easily what she (as well as most of its actors) is best-known for, American Pie spawned a four-movie franchise, with Reid returning as Vicky Lathum for all of them.

Josie and the Pussycats (2001)

Giphy

One of the best movies from the early 2000s that's often overlooked, Reid is great as the perpetually clueless Melody Valentine.

National Lampoon's Van Wilder (2002)

Arguably her other biggest role, Reid ends up falling for Ryan Reynolds's titular party king when she decides to do a story for the school paper about him.

My Boss's Daughter (2003)

In this often-forgotten comedy, Ashton Kutcher has to win over not just Reid, but also her father, who is not only his boss, but is played by the infinitely intimidating Terence Stamp.

Alone In The Dark (2005)

Probably the biggest black mark on her career, Reid co-starred alongside Christian Slater in this adaptation of the video game series of the same name. It's considered one of the worst movies of all time.
