8 Child Stars That Will Make You Feel Ancient When You See Them As Adults
Sticking around in Hollywood as a child star can be tough. Whether you're on sitcom as the daughter of Tony Danza or playing the big brother of Frankie Muniz, it can be tough to make the transition from child actor to adult actor or actress.
Often children who get their big break in their youth take a break from the entertainment business entirely, but some times they make the leap from child star to teen heart throb and later become one of Hollywood's biggest names, I am looking at you Leonardo DiCaprio.
Whether you remember them for their childhood roles, or their most recent work, these child actors look nothing like they did back in the day.
Get ready to feel old!
Daveigh Chase
Do you remember getting pulled into The Ring back in 2002. The sinister young girl Samara had us on the edge of our seats with her creepy portrayal of the haunted character. However when you're comparing Chase today to her role from 15 years ago, you may not even recognize her.
This child star became a talented voice actress and no longer needs to step on screen for her roles. She was the voice of Lilo from Disney's Lilo & Stitch. Now in her mid-twenties, she is tackling some more indie projects.
Mackenzie Rosman
This young girl grew up right before our eyes during the eleven seasons on 7th Heaven. Little Ruthie was the youngest of the Camden daughters and she was the absolute sweetest!
Having ended in 2007, the former child star is still making waves in Hollywood. She has been pursuing indie movies and short films, as well as had a recurring role on Secret Life of the American Teenager.
The young girl looks very different than we remember her. Breaking out from the mold, she even posted for a photo shoot with Maxim a few years back reminding us that she is no longer the Reverend's daughter.
Jonathan Lipnicki
Do you remember adorable little Jonathan Lipnicki? His memorable roles in Jerry Maguire and Stuart Little are still talked about today. You may be surprised about how much he has changed over the years, though.
After enjoying years of success as a child actor, he took a break from acting. He didn't stay away for long though. He has since returned to guest star in television shows like Family Guy and Monk and is now deep into indie projects.
He certainly has come a long way and you can barely remember that was once him as a child actor.
Abigail Breslin
This young actress made her debut in 2002 as the sweet Bo Hess in M. Night Shyamalan's sci-fi hit Signs. It wasn't until her performance in Little Miss Sunshine that Abigail Breslin really caught the attention of viewers.
She continued to star in major movies like Nim's Island and Zombieland, but it wasn't until recently she just grew up before our eyes.
Starring alongside Emma Robers and Jamie Lee Curtis in Scream Queens she proved that she is no longer a little girl.
Jaleel White
For nine years we laughed along with Jaleel White while he was wearing goofy suspenders in Family Matters. His silly sense of style along with his quotable catchphrase "Did I Do That?" is still memorable to this day.
Well that young boy is no longer sporting the pop bottle glasses and colorful suspenders. With guest appearances in countless popular television series, including NCIS, House, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and plenty more, he is definitely all grown up now.
Taylor Momsen
If you pop on How the Grinch Stole Christmas every year, you will remember adorable Cindy Lou Who who starred opposite to Jim Carey in the live action version of the classic cartoon.
Well, the sweet girl from Who-ville is looking mighty different these days since her appearance in 2000 (yes, really!) Christmas comedy.
17 years have gone by and the actress is now the lead woman of the American rock bank The Pretty Reckless, and has a recurring role in the CW drama Gossip Girl.
I still can't believe how long ago this movie came out.
Miko Hughes
Creepy kids in horror films always stand out in my mind, so I couldn't finish up this list without including Miko Huges. Best known for his role in Pet Sematary and New Nightmare this child actor knew how to do horror flicks.
He was also famous for his roles in other great 90's films including Apollo 13 and Mercury Rising.
Since the late 90's he has gotten back into the acting game recently with starring roles in indie films getting ready to debut next year.
No matter what he's been up to, he's clearly not the same kid we remember from the 90's.
Anthony Michael Hall
You remember him as the loveable nerd from your favorite 80's movies. Starring in National Lampoon's Vacation, Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club and Weird Science Anthony Michael Hall was definitely a child star none of us would forget quickly.
While he has enjoyed a long career in Hollywood, Anthony Michael Hall has changed a lot over the decades, to the point where you wouldn't recognize him as the same person.
Be prepared to feel old, folks.
